A. Senior
Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE): Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects
comprising three core subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science
and Mathematics, plus three (3) elective subjects (Elective Mathematics,
Physics and Either Chemistry or Biology or Applied Electricity or Electronics
or Technical Drawing).
B. West African
Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) WASSCE: Credit Passes (A1-C6)
in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language,
Integrated Science and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects
(Elective Mathematics, Physics and Either Chemistry OR Biology OR Applied
Electricity OR Electronics OR Technical Drawing).
C. General Certificate of Education (GCE)
Five credit passes at GCE
‘O’ Level three (3) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other
subjects, plus passes GCE
‘A-Level in Mathematics/Statistics, Physics and either Chemistry or any other
Science subject.
D. Technical / Vocational School
Applicants
Passes Three (3) courses in EET II
OR
Six (6) passes in Ordinary Technician Diploma (OTD)
OR
Passes 3 courses in EEE III
E. Post–Secondary Teacher Certificate
Post
–Secondary Teachers Certificate (Science or Technical options)
F. Mature Students’ Entry
1.
Must be at least 25 years old
2.
Must have had at least two (2) years of relevant work
experience
3. Must pass a written examination in English, mathematics and Departmental Paper and or an interview.
G. International
Applicants
1.
All foreign qualifications shall be referred to the Ghana
Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for determination of equivalences and
eligibility for admission to the institution.
2.
Applicants with WAEC qualifications can apply directly to the
University.
Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case
of applicants from non -English speaking countries. International applicants are also requested
to acquire Non-Citizens Ecowascard as a pre-requisite for regularization of
admission. International applicants who fail to provide evidence of having acquired
this card will not have their admissions regularized.
